A Message from Mr. Woodle

Welcome to O’Neill Elementary School.  We are excited to begin another school year with our old friends and our new ones.

There will be some changes implemented at O’Neill Elementary during the 2015-2016 school year.  The first will be the PBIS program which stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.  This program is based in recognizing our students for meeting the behavioral expectations of our school.  We will work to educate the children on what we expect of them in specific environments in our building.  We will correct and reteach behaviors that do not meet the behavioral expectations of each environment.  We know we need to show our students the path we want them to follow.  We can’t assume they already know where we want them to go.  The students earn Eagle Pride Coupons for meeting expectations and be recognized for their hard work by displaying the traits of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

  • This year we will also be implementing a more student centered intervention program.  We will look at data from student assessments and teacher recommendations to tailor our intervention time to our students’ needs.  We will work in small groups on skills that will help them grow academically, behaviorally and socially.  We will look at their progress monthly to track the progress and make adjustments in our groups as necessary.

The current O’Neill Elementary School was dedicated in 1996 with an addition in 2011.  The school currently consists of three classrooms per grade level, kindergarten through sixth grade.  The building is split into wings with students of like age sharing a wing of the building.
